山梨県鳳凰山御座石温泉で1988年6月25日に細田倖市氏に採集された雄から記載（昆虫学評論44(2), Dec., 1989 Kishii）。記載時では
Gambrinus hosodai 。 G. montivagus に類似する。 （昆虫学評論44(2), Dec., 1989 Kishii
及び 同57(2), Oct.,2002 Kishii に本種の検索あり）
（Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology 21(2018) 有本晃一・有本久之 Description of a
new species and redescription of two species of the genus Limoniscus Reitter
(Coleoptera, Elateridae, Dendrometrinae) from Japan）。同論文には、日本産23種のLimoniscus
の検索あり
